Counseling and Art Therapy
Background Information:
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) practicing in Indianapolis, IN and serving the surrounding metropolitan area. I received a Masters of Arts degree in Art Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
Prior to attending UIC, I joined AmeriCorps and volunteered in the San Luis Valley in Southern Colorado. During my term with AmeriCorps I worked for change in the areas of poverty and social justice. Before settling down with my family here in Indianapolis I spent several years in both Denver and Chicago. I worked with a variety of populations in various facilities, including an outpatient day program, nursing home, large non-profit organization, homeless shelter, and psychosocial rehabilitation center. These experiences have allowed me to work with a wide range of people and issues. Some of these issues include: anxiety, stress, depression, serious mental illness, substance abuse, dementia, homelessness, parenting issues/conflicts, family distress, trauma, sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, life transitions and creative blocks.
